Where the layers happen
Ghost Layer Studios is a small workshop with six machines and one rule: everything we sell is our own art, made here, one piece at a time. No print farms, no drop shipping, no copies of anyone else's work.
The name is literal. Every piece we make is built or carved in layers — laser passes into anodized aluminum, strata of UV ink, slices of resin. The ghost is what's left when the process is done: something that wasn't there before, haunting the space between the layers.
The machines
Fiber laser
The metal voice — burns highlights through the ink to bare aluminum, brass, and copper on the card line.
CO2 laser
Cuts and engraves the acrylic and hardwood: dials, trackers, tokens.
Diode laser
Fine line-work and border detailing on alters and mixed-material pieces.
UV printer
Full-color original art in layered ink — the color half of every metal card, plus stickers and magnets.
SLA resin printer
Detail resin for objective markers and sculpted pieces.
FDM printer
Jigs, fixtures, and the structural parts you never see but every piece relies on.
Never copies — and what that means
Reproducing a game's official art is copying — legally fraught and creatively empty. Designing a new piece for the role your card plays — the dragon tyrant, the star admiral, the forest warden — gives you something no one else at the table has.
We're equally honest about how those designs get made: they start AI-assisted and get finished by hand — compositions tuned, layers separated for the laser, details reworked until they etch clean. Every listing says so. A fully hand-drawn premium line is on the roadmap; either way, the result is ours to stand behind: material, process, and design.
